THE ROCKY MOUNTAINEER - INDEPENDENT TOUR FROM CALGARY TO VANCOUVER   DAY 1 Calgary Arrive in Calgary and transfer by coach to your hotel for a two-night stay.   DAY 2 Calgary Today is a day at leisure to relax. Included is admission to the Calgary Tower which offers good views of the city and surrounding area.   DAY 3 Banff Today, transfer by coach, to the mountain resort of Banff for a three-night stay. Set alongside the banks of the Bow River and surrounded by mountains, Banff is a year-round resort with a range of attractions, shops, boutiques, restaurant and museums.   DAY 4 Banff Sightseeing This morning enjoy a six-hour sightseeing tour of Banff, including scenic highlights such as Bow Falls, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos. You will experience an 8-minute gentle ride to the summit of Sulphur Mountain in a fully enclosed gondola. A spectacular view and picture taking opportunity await you at the top of this 360 degree panoramic vantage of Bow Valley. Complete the tour with a cruise on Lake Minnewanka which offers some of the most spectacular scenery found anywhere in the Canadian Rockies.   DAY 5 Columbia Icefield Excursion Today you will journey by coach along the spectacular Icefields Parkway, where lakes, waterfalls and mountain peaks dot this awe-inspiring landscape. At the Columbia Icefield you’ll venture onto the surface of the Athabasca Glacier by means of a massive Ice Explorer vehicle, and you’ll also visit the Glacier Skywalk.   DAY 6 Rocky Mountaineer to Kamloops Early this morning transfer by coach (included) to the station and board the Rocky Mountaineer for their ‘First Passage to the West’ route, travelling in SilverLeaf Service. Transfer to a moderate class hotel which is arranged by Rocky Mountaineer. Breakfast and lunch served on- board.   DAY 7 Rocky Mountaineer to Vancouver Again, this morning, transfer by coach (included) to the station and re-board the train for today’s journey which takes you through the Fraser Canyon and the fertile Fraser Valley before reaching Vancouver late afternoon. Transfer by coach (included) to your hotel for a three-night stay. Breakfast and lunch served onboard.   DAY 8 Vancouver Sightseeing This morning enjoy a five-hour tour visiting highlights such as Stanley Park, Granville Market, Chinatown and historic Gastown.
